Reflecting Telescope
Newton builds the first working reflecting telescope in 1668, using a mirror instead of a lens to avoid colour errors.
Open in the interactive tree →Mirrors can be made larger than lenses and do not split colours. All large research telescopes since, including Hubble and JWST, are reflectors.
