ALOHAnet
Norman Abramson's ALOHAnet (Hawaii, 1971) is the first packet radio network: stations share one channel and simply retry after a collision.
Open in the interactive tree →Random access over a shared medium was a new idea. Metcalfe built Ethernet on it, and Wi-Fi inherits the same principle.
